About

The Developer Behind the Outcomes.

I build enterprise learning that changes behavior — not training that just gets completed.

My career started at the ground level. In 2013 I joined Spryos as a support specialist, learning the end-user experience firsthand. That perspective became the foundation for everything since: every design decision starts with the learner, not the template.

Over the next decade I grew from instructional designer to senior designer, project manager, and customer success manager — designing enterprise eLearning for Fortune 500 clients including Intel, sustaining a 100% CSAT score, and earning a six-year strategic retainer along the way. I pair deep Articulate Storyline craft with the custom JavaScript depth to build what the platform won't give you: gamified assessments, branching simulations, custom navigation players, and xAPI instrumentation that turns learning into business intelligence.

Today I'm the founder of Small Boulder AI, where I've logged 4,000+ hours of hands-on AI production. I also drove enrollment and ran the out-of-class learning experience for a $20K AI bootcamp — onboarding, job aids, reminder communications, and learning summaries that kept owners progressing between sessions. I bring that same AI fluency back into L&D — accelerating production without cutting the quality that makes training actually work.

The Escape Room That Became an Obsession
A Fortune 500 client's post-training assessment was a tedious checklist. Learners were checked out. I engineered a fully interactive escape room with custom JavaScript — active problem-solving instead of passive recall.
Client Outcome
"One employee played the game 21 times just to outperform a colleague."

Simulation · User Adoption
Accelerating Fortune 500 Software Adoption
New software launched to a resistant team. Instead of a manual, I built a "try-mode" Storyline simulation — risk-free practice that built muscle memory and proved the tool's value through doing, not reading.
Client Outcome
Adoption far ahead of schedule. Learning curve significantly reduced.

The Module That Launched a 6-Year Partnership
Passive training wasn't fixing a recurring compliance error. I built a scenario-based simulation with custom JavaScript — learners fail safely and discover the correct path through experience, not instruction.
Client Outcome
Error corrected. Earned a 6-year strategic retainer as trusted L&D partner.

Custom Navigation Player Built From Scratch
A design agency delivered a high-end mobile-first mockup. The default Storyline player couldn't touch it. I reverse-engineered the spec and built a completely custom navigation player in JavaScript.
Client Outcome
Zero design compromises. Fully branded experience delivered on deadline.

AI Bootcamp: Keeping Owners Progressing Between Sessions
A 3-month AI bootcamp for SMB owners lived or died on what happened outside the live sessions. I owned that layer — driving enrollment for most of the cohort, then building the job aids, reminder communications, and weekly learning summaries that turned scattered sessions into a coherent journey owners could actually follow and apply.
Outcome
Filled the $20K first cohort and kept owners on track between sessions with a consistent out-of-class support system.

Flawless Product Launch Training at Intel
Intel needed a sales team ready before a hard product launch deadline. Immovable timeline, high stakes. I ran radical transparency: shared timeline, constant stakeholder cadence, proactive risk mitigation.
Client Outcome
"This is project management at its finest." — Intel client lead, mid-meeting.

Differentiator

Most eLearning Developers Stop at SCORM. I Don't.

SCORM tells you someone finished a course. That's a checkbox, not an insight. xAPI implementation turns every learning experience into a business intelligence layer — and most developers don't know how to build it.

Business Outcome
Prove Training ROI to Executives
With xAPI embedded into Storyline via custom JavaScript, every interaction generates data — decision paths, retry patterns, time-to-proficiency per module. L&D leaders stop saying "87% completed" and start saying "learners who replayed the simulation twice reduced errors by 31%." That's a budget conversation, not a compliance report.
Business Outcome
Find Content Failures Before They Become Performance Failures
When xAPI is authored into a course correctly, the data shows exactly where learners consistently make wrong decisions — before those decisions happen on the job. For tax form simulations, compliance training, or sales enablement, that's the difference between a training program that patches problems and one that prevents them.
Business Outcome
Connect Learning Data Across Every System
xAPI statements route to a Learning Record Store — whether that's Docebo, SCORM Cloud, or Watershed — and aggregate data from simulations, mobile modules, and live training into a single behavioral record. Organizations with complex, multi-system learning ecosystems finally get a unified view of what's actually working.
Business Outcome
Custom Reporting Built for Your Stakeholders
Raw LRS data is only useful if it answers the right questions. I design reporting structures that map to each stakeholder's actual needs — L&D directors see behavioral patterns and content gaps, business leaders see performance correlations. The report that gets your training budget approved looks very different from the one that helps an instructional designer fix a broken module.
Why This Is Rare
xAPI expertise sits at the intersection of instructional design, JavaScript development, and data strategy. Most candidates have one. Few have all three.
Implementing xAPI correctly requires knowing how to author custom JavaScript statements inside Storyline triggers — not just publishing to an LRS and hoping the default data is enough. It requires designing the statement vocabulary before a single slide is built, so the data you collect actually maps to the business questions you need to answer.
It also requires understanding the reporting layer: who needs what data, in what format, connected to which business metric. That's not a technical skill — it's a consulting skill. It's the difference between an eLearning developer and a learning strategist who happens to write code.
Real Example

The escape room assessment in this portfolio doesn't just report pass/fail. When xAPI is layered in, it captures every puzzle attempt, every wrong decision, every voluntary replay — and connects that behavioral data to downstream performance metrics. The fact that one learner played it 21 times isn't just a good story. It's a data point that proves the experience design worked, and xAPI is what makes that measurable.
